Afterschool Education Programs

4-H Afterschool

4-H Afterschool Education Programs are a special focus area within the 4-H Youth Development Program. We partner with community youth-serving agencies to support quality afterschool environments. We provide support to existing afterschool programs in the following ways:

  • Conducting staff development opportunities for afterschool staff.
  • Providing research-based “hands on” curriculum.

Imagine Science

Imagine Science Orange County is a partnership between Orange County 4-H, the Anaheim YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove, and Girls Inc. bringing dynamic, hands-on, after-school STEM education to Orange County's underserved youth. See some of our awesome scientists in action below!

Juntos - Together for a Better Education

The Juntos (Spanish word for "together") program aims to empower Latino students and their parents with knowledge, skills, and resources to encourage families to work "together" as they pursue the path to high school graduation and higher education. The program will consist of educational family workshops, after-school 4-H clubs, success coaching and mentoring, and a summer program. For more info, click on the logo below!

The Orange County 4-H Juntos program will officially start in early 2018!

How can I participate?

4-H Afterschool Education Programs are typically developed on a site-wide, grant-specific basis. If you are interested in having 4-H Imagine Science or 4-H Juntos at your school or community site, please contact Mary Bonaparte-Saller at for more information. Youth in afterschool education programs may or may not be individually enrolled in 4-H depending on grant funding.
