One of the skills we teach in 4-H is commitment. Participants have an entry fee of $5.00 per participant. All fees are due to the committee no later than the County Council meeting on February 28th. We request that you do not sign up anyone that you feel will be a no-show. The total number of judges is based on the total number of participants. Pre-registration is required for all events including Share the Fun, Song Leading and Cultural Arts due to the program being printed prior to the event. Last minute adds are not possible, however, if a participant needs to withdraw from an event, please let us know. Please remember your commitment and be ready for Presentation Day.
The packets of information going to each club are very complete and will provide a practical reference for you as a 4-H Club Leader in assisting your members in participating at Presentation Day. There are materials you will need for registration, dates to remember, training information and deadline dates. Please photocopy forms as needed and pass them out to your club members. Be sure that your members are aware of your deadline dates so you can meet ours.
Thank you all for your commitment and participation. I’m sure this will be another great year for Presentations.

4. Team entries may only participate in Demonstration/Illustrated Talk portion of Presentation Day.
5. Demonstrations/Illustrated Talks will be judged on presentation techniques. Emphasis will be on how the material is presented, recognizing that there are many acceptable methods of presentation. Some presentations may be illustrated talks, depending on the nature of the subject matter. Both should be judged equally. Questions about the specific presentation may be asked at the end of the presentation. Notes should not be used.
6. In the Interpretive Reading Category, the presenter is required to read the selection. No note cards may be used for the introduction or conclusion. If they do not want to bring the book, the presenter may photocopy the pages they are going to read.
7. For all songs and readings, a copy of the lyrics or reading must be provided at the time the entry is submitted.
8. 4-H uniforms are encouraged, but not required. Appropriateness of clothing will be considered. (clean, neat, no holes, etc.)

10. Only presenters and room hosts may participate in the set up and clean up of a presentation; no parental help is allowed.
11. The number of entries is proportional to the number of judges provided per club.
12. There will be approximately 7-10 Demonstrations/Presentations per room.
13. There is no limit of single or team demonstrations per club.
14. Flash photography should only take place before the presentation and after the question/answer period. Video taping should take place from one location only; a tripod is preferred. Video taping and snapshots should be taken at the consent of the presenter. Some presenters become nervous or distracted and prefer not being photographed. Some judges also become distracted. The photographer should be respectful of the presenter(s) and the judges.
