Teen Council & All-Star / Ambassadors
What is the Teen Council?
Teen Council is the primary leadership youth organization that is dedicated to serving the youth of Orange County 4-H while broadening the opportunities for leadership growth beyond the club level. With members sharing common interest and goals, serving on the council will help strengthen our county 4-H program and allow members to further develop their leadership talents. The Teen Council events and meetings are open to all 4-H members 13 years of age and older who enjoy working and socializing with members from across the County. To be a member of the Council itself, members must be at least 14 years of age. **No particular star ranking is required to participate in the Teen Council.**
The Teen Council meets monthly.
What are All Star / Ambassadors?
All Star / Ambassadors are our teens who choose to go above and beyond in their role as Teen Leaders by volunteering to help lead County-wide events by volunteering their time, energy and enthusiasm to County-wide committees like Food Fiesta, Presentation Day, Youth Expo, Fashion Revue, Community Service, Fundraising, etc. There are many opportunities for the All Star / Ambassadors to speak in front of groups, like at County Achievement Night, and as MC's for the awards ceremonies at the other County events. They are in charge of coming up with ideas for County fundraising, Community Service that can be County-wide and helping to lead Jr / Teen Leader workshops. We ask that they attend some of the State-wide Leadership camps and attend some of the County Council Meetings, as well as the Teen Council Meetings. There are many experiences in organization and leadership to be gained by joining the County All-Star / Ambassador Team. To be a member of the All-Star / Ambassador Team, members must be at least 14 years of age the year they serve and have either attained the rank of Gold Star or Emerald Star by the end of the year in which they apply.
