FOSTERING LOVE FOR ORANGEWOOD CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION
Heather contacted Orangewood Children's Foundation (a county facility for protecting children).  Heather found out that sometimes the children are whisked away leaving them with nothing.  Heather came up with the idea of making backpacks out of donated fabric and filled these backpacks with toiletries and other goodies for these children.
She held a workshop at the county fair to get others involved with her project so they can foster love too.

FOOD CLOTHING AND TOILETRIES FOR MARY'S KITCHEN
Sjoen contacted Mary's Kitchen (517 W. Struck Ave., Orange, CA  (714) 633-0444) who helps over 100 people a day by serving hot meals and allowing people to clean up.  In addition to hot meals, they provide warm clothing, sleeping bags, toiletries and other items so many of us take for granted.  She asked our community's e-tree to help get the word out to the community.  They responded with food, warm blankets, coats, and sleeping bags.  Sjoen and her sister found a saying "If you want happiness for a lifetime, help someone".

ADOPT-A-FAMILY
Each year the Orange Acres Backbreakers adopts a family through the Salvation Army.  We receive a list with the family's needs and  things they would like and the OABB elves get busy.  We ask for donations from our members.  We hope this brings some joy to a family

HEIFER INTERNATIONAL FUNDRAISER
Heather and Sjoen are collecting change for Heifer International.  There is a contest going through the county clubs to see who can raise the most money for Heifer International.  The winning club will get an ice cream party.  And the knowledge they have helped a very worthwhile cause - Heifer International - that provides livestock to third world countries to help people help themselves
